ChaCha is a search engine that pays human "guides" to answer questions for users. This is a technique known as social searching. ChaCha was created by Scott A. Jones, inventor and entrepreneur, and Brad Bostic, the chairman of Bostech Corporation. ChaCha is based out of Carmel, Indiana.

Now , if you are not able to find your answers on google and u usually ask your peers to do search for you , here it is chacha.com , a human powered search engine . My experience was great , see my 1st search below . Actually i wanted to ask a word for 'keep quite' , it looks quite simple to seacrh for it but it is not actually. Even the chacha person wasnt able to find it but still she tried to give her best and finally gave an answer of her own which was indeed correct .

He knows the power of technology so it is only fair that President APJ Abdul Kalam finds support among communities that technology has brought together.

The Internet, these days, is abuzz with pro-Kalam activity. The Pune Nagrik Manch (PNM), a citizen’s initiative, has posted an online petition http://www.PetitionOnline.com/apj to get people to vote in favour of a second term for Kalam as President. It has managed to garner over 86,000 signatures so far. It is reaching out to people through the popular networking site, Orkut, and through e-groups on Yahoo.

“I think this is a mass movement by the citizens for the citizens of India,” Sujeet Shilamkar, president of PNM and IT professional, wrote in an email to HT. According to Shilamkar, Kalam is a “ray of hope”. “In recent years, none of those who held this post have been able to devise constructive programmes of national and people welfare interests…He is the only man who deserves to the first citizen of our country,” Shilamkar, 25, stated.

Online petitions and networking sites have been mobilising public opinion on various issues from the Jessica Lall case to reservations in educational institutions. With Kalam’s tenure expiring in July 2007, the online petition aims to mobilise public support for an extension of his term. The idea is to the scientists and other fans of the President and put pressure on political parties to ensure Kalam continues as President.

“We have received a tremendous response from all over the world,” Shilamkar wrote. “We have forwarded the letters and mails to all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members.”

The PNM also organised a rally in Pune on January 12 to press their demand. The PNM is now planning to visit educational institutions for a signature campaign and start a Short Messaging Service (SMS) campaign.

The community Vote for President Kalam, which was created on Orkut in November 2006, has 118 members. It links visitors and members to www.bhaskarastro.org /voteforpresident, an online vote forum launched by Bhaskaracharya Astronomy Research Centre, an Ahmednagar-based organisation that works to improve educational standards of students.

A message posted by Abhi Patil said, “After a long time India realised that President is not a rubber stamp.”

Chennai-based Sriram Sundar owns the 30-member community Kalam…Continue as president while New Delhi’s Tarun Saini has created the community APJ Abdul Kalam as president, which has 28 members.

“The campaign, ‘Justice For Jessica’ proved a great success. It showed how public opinion forced the Executives, Legislature & Judiciary to give Jessica justice,” Saini, a postgraduate in political science and international relations from Delhi University, wrote on the community’s homepage. “So why not try and check out the popularity of our beloved President?”

I really dont know , what is happening to my machine . I am not able to open any site except google ones . I tried nsitonline.in , nsitlounge.in , rediff.com, santabanta.com and everyother site that i can think off . But in vain . And totally opposite , every google site is opening . Google Reader , blogger.com , google.com ( search is being dispplayed but i cant open any of the site ,very strangely , i am able to see the cached pages ) , orkut , etc . If any of you are having such problem,please tell me . I will really be very grateful to you .

P.S- I am now dead sure it was a virus , i tried running those websites on my other windows ( i hav 2 windows) and everything was fine on that window , i tried everything to resolve the error on main window (on which i work/play) but in vain . Anywayz i have now bought a new PC , it's P4 dual core 3.4 Ghz but unfortunately i cant use it right now as i am having some problem moving my old hard disk to merge into my new comp with new SATA hard drive . Actually my all installers are on my old harddisk and i dont want to download those from internet again . The data is so large that i just cant think of burning CD for them . BTW if any of you wants to buy a second hand P3 733Mhz along with CD writer, lan card , etc. at a very very low cost , u may contact me .

• Egg is a non veg, just like milk. Milk is basically broken down cells from the body of a animal. But in India we are blissfully ignorant of this fact !!
• POULTRY eggs produced these days are LIFELESS. The HEN that hatches are different. These eggs can NEVER produce chick on incumbation. You can try yourself. So we can consider them as VEGETARIAN.The DESI egg which is produced from a DESI Murgi can produce chick on incumbation.
• The definition of veg and non-veg needs clarification: vegans, who eat no animal products, found that they have difficulty digesting food due to the lack of Vitamin B12, which is only found in animal foods. So biologically, we are non-vegetarians.
  Milk was chosen as a vegetarian food since it has vit B12 and presumably does not hurt the animal. However, the Mas'ai tribe in Africa believe that milking a cow is actually stealing the calf's food. They prefer to take blood from a neck vein from bulls. This hurts the bulls less than the loss of milk hurts the calf.
  Following the same definition, some hens lay an egg everyday. These are not fertilised, in fact the hen does not even incubate them. There are as good as excrement to the hen and hurts the hen a lot less than milk or blood hurts cattle. If unfertilised eggs are not eaten, they will rot. So it seems that the most vegetarian animal food is an unfertilised egg!
• Egg is not vegetarian just because it not made of vegetables. it is made of body cells of another creature. As Leo says, even milk is not vegetable, it is a blood product. In India divisions of vegetarian or non-vegetarian is falsely termed as meat eating or non-meat eating - that too base don religious beliefs. Pure vegetarians do not take egg or milk, both come out of a situation were an animal is deprived off its natural rights to life or living. we milk a cow by restricting its naturalness, and also deprive its cub of its right - drinking of its mothers milk
• egans/ vegetarinism has its root from Veg (which means plants giving rise to vegetables & fit for human consumption) Hence Brinjals are also called egg plants.
  
  According to this root word egg originates from birds, animals (egg as in female sex cell) hence egg would not be veg/ vegan food.
  If this question is for religious reasons - one may note few brahmins( East India) consume fish, few Buddhists around south-east Asia include animal based diet in their intake, Early Maldivians who were Buddhists had fish has their staple diet (as it was the only plentiful food avbl in the islands). and mythology has that Sage Agathiya once had a feast of tender lamb (a demon in form of lamb - who was supposed to tear open the sage's tummy and exit thereby killing him) and the sage digested the demon before he could perform the act of evil. So in accordance to the situation one can consume any proper food as long it is consumable (Islam classifies this as Halaal food)

Google's orkut was also criticized for ignoring public outcry over hate-india communities . One of them was "i hate india" started by a group of pakistanis which was shut for few days but now it is online again . Orkut was almost on the verge of getting banned .

hi friends , today i want to tell something about RSS feeds to dummies . And by dummies i dont mean fools , dummies are those who just don't know know about this topic . First , what is this RSS , many of you must have seen icons like above .

RSS is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts.

Users of RSS content use programs called feed 'readers' or 'aggregators': the user 'subscribes' to a feed by supplying to their reader a link to the feed; the reader can then check the user's subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content since the last time it checked, and if so, retrieve that content and present it to the user.

Ok , so how can you use it . You need a feed reader for using RSS . There are many many feed reders available in the market , most of them are free . I will discuss only the google here . Google Reader is an excellent tool for using RSS feeds . Go to www.google.com/reader . If you are a first time user , you need select your preferences , how you want see your RSS feeds . Now , on next page . You can see a small option of "add a subscription" . Try foxytech.blogspot.com in it . Volla ! Done . Now whenever you will visit your google reader , you can see the new posts on foxytech.blogspot.com rightaway on your google reader . Right now , there are millions of websites which have a option of RSS feeds , infact you can find this feeds on every blogspot and wordpress powered websites . The best way to know if your a site has a rss feed or not is to see the RSS icon on the address bar . You can also subscribe to site's RSS feed by using firefox . I will also advise you to set google reader as your rss reader via firefox permanently . Go to tools->options->rss and set google reader
