Hi friends ,
This time i am just copy and pasting this article from some website . So please do not leave any comments here .

Website link : http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm

GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual filesystem around your Google Gmail account, allowing you to use Gmail as a storage medium.

GMail Drive creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google Gmail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your Gmail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder, where you can create new folders, copy and drag'n'drop files to.

Ever since Google started to offer users a Gmail e-mail account, which includes storage space of 2000 megabytes, you have had plenty of storage space but not a lot to fill it up with. With GMail Drive you can easily copy files to your Gmail account and retrieve them again.
When you create a new file using GMail Drive, it generates an e-mail and posts it to your account. The e-mail appears in your normal Inbox folder, and the file is attached as an e-mail attachment. GMail Drive periodically checks your mail account (using the Gmail search function) to see if new files have arrived and to rebuild the directory structures. But basically GMail Drive acts as any other hard-drive installed on your computer.
You can copy files to and from the GMail Drive folder simply by using drag'n'drop like you're used to with the normal Explorer folders.

Because the Gmail files will clutter up your Inbox folder, you may wish to create a filter in Gmail to automatically move the files (prefixed with the GMAILFS letters in the subject) to your archived mail folder.

Please note that GMail Drive is still an experimental tool. There's still a number of limitations of the file-system (such as total filename size must be less than 65 characters). Since the tool hooks up with the free Gmail Service provided by Google, changes in the Gmail system may break the tool's ability to function. I cannot guarantee that files stored in this manner will be accessible in the future.

Installation Requirements

Installation Guide

  • Extract the ZIP file to a temporary folder.
  • Run the Setup application.

Hi Friends

The no. of daily unique visitors are goin up day by day now , this is really very inspiring . I hope you enjoyed my previous posts . If u enjoyed and even if u didn’t please let me know your comments and suggestions .

Now back to the main topic . This article is for dummies. And dummies doesn’t mean fools . Making your own personalized email addressee is as easy opening a gmail account if you know the correct way .

Just follow these simple steps :

  1. Ok first you have to buy a domain. If possible buy from a local source , don’t go for big players . If don’t know anybody you can go for GODADDY.com , they offer reasonably cheap domains . You can buy .info for 1$ . I recently bought one from a delhi(new friends colony) based firm for Rs.349/. You can contact me for details . You will receive your host settings where you can change the name servers . BTW you can also buy domain from google at 10$.
  2. Now you have to point your name server to some dns control . You can try http://www.opendns.com . It is a good one. If you also have host ready to put your site up , you can point your name servers to it . In opendns case : your name server should 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 . Open an account there and add your site to it . This takes around 10-30 hours to setup completely .
  3. Now , go to http://google.com/a/ , open an account , add your website . You need to verify that you are the owner of that domain . For this you have 2 option :

i) change your domain cname setting according to google one (google will tell you about the settings to implement )

ii) If you are also hosting your website on some host service. You just need to add a html file for it . Google will tell you the specifications. This will be done at once while first option take some time .

  1. Now you just need to change your MX settings (which actually point to you mail server) according to google ones .
  2. All done , now just activate your mail feature and start using your new email domain like abc@xyz.com , not abc@gmail.com

SO here is it . KBC is back and this time with whole new avatar with 'baadshah of Bollywood' Sharukh Khan . So the show started with a dashing cool rap song . The song theme was same as the show's theme , ek sawaal . Lots of unanswered funny questions here and there . I liked 'main rupa ki baniyan pehnoonga to rupa kya pehnegi' , and hey nice girl they showed ;) . Ok now coming back on decency . There was hee , in a black suit standing tall on a place which has been copyrighted by Big B , and hey with tie above shirt , like a gentle man , not Don.

And hey his much-talked about preparation didnt went waste . He prepared his lines quite well with no stoppage in his shudh-hindi lines . He he , it felt , he was teasing BigB . Now Prasenjit Sarkar was the first contestant of the new season of KBC which is hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. Interestingly, Prasenjit was also the last contestant of KBC 2 which was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. But now seriously , i felt quite bored in next 25 mins . Same feeling was felt in whole KBC2 Session . But anyways , he was improving minute by minute , with his own distinguished sense of humor . The real fun started with the second contestant . The funny guy teased him by preferring John Moorey to him . Back to his old glory . Anyway , the package on a whole was quite good . Sharukh disappointed a bit but i am sure he will improve .

By the way , i am waiting for the biggest episode of this show when Sharukh and Amitabh Bachchan will turn the table

i had hathway since last yr , it was good in comparison to mtnl dialup service. It has a very very poor customer service but still i beared with it beocz of the cost on which i was getting it . In last nov , customer service was tooo bad with no internet connection for a week , it was enough and i switched to MTNL . Luckily , a scheme was also going on , becoz of which i didn't had to pay 1300 INR installation charges . It was like a god to me . No disconnections at all . Guaranteed speed of 256kbps. And things become just better when MTNL announced its free up gradation to 2MBPS. That was the end of MTNL love story .

Now begins bloody hate story when MTNL announced that this upgradation is not for unlimited plan users . Grrrhhhh.......ok..i was still a happy customer as i was receiving 2MBPS speed despite being a unlimited plan user . I very well knew that this will vanish in a day or two . It happened after a week . Now , the speed that i am getting is never more than 220 kbps . This is not all , today , for the first time though , mtnl north-delhi service was shut for almost 6 hours . I called 1504 toll-free service . With usual press 1 ,3,etc i connected to a customer service agent (or whtever u call them) , a recorded message played that there is no space for me in the queue , try later . I call again once ,twice....6 times . This time there was a place for me in the queue , it played the usual message ...u r in queue, your waiting time is 160 sec ...WTF !!! .... 160 sec waiting time , i decided to wait ...afterall it was 7th call ... the waiting time reduced , 120 sec , 110 sec , 30 sec ,20 sec...then...only the single line message ' u r in queue' , no waiting time . And kept on playing the same line. What the hell it was , i asked to myself . Anyway ,the connection resumed at 11 . I hope Airtel people will install me a connection soon , by the way , do u have airtel no. ???? OK, i will call 121

Hi

Ok , I tried finding best techniques to make a site best optimized for a search engine and I was literally surprised to know that a whole industry is running on this . They are in short called SEOs , search engine optimizer/optimization . Its not a one stop process , infact you have to continue doing it till your site is running .

Ok , I will first talk a little about how google get to know about any site :
Every few weeks google runs a kind of spider on domains listed in its database . The purpose is to update the site’s cache in its database but the main most imp purpose is to add any link (that it encounters) to its database.

Whenever we start a new website , we are always in hurry to submit our link on google or on some other automated search engine subscription which submit the site link on various search engines . Looks great but here is kind of some trap . Google and few other penalise users for it. You will get a better PR (page rank) if google gets to know about your site by other means like some direct link on other website. You need to be patient on this. To avoid this few people submit their website to some link-exchange . This is a bad practise. If there is some site where no of links exceeds more than ..hmm.....say 100 . Google might not add them and will label them as spam . This may also have a bad effect on your PR. . It will be great if you are able to submit the site on (s many as possible) other relevent websites which may have same set of keywords as you have. Here comes the link popularity factor (explained later)

Now we will talk about the main factors which will literally decide your PR .
Search engines give more importance to some items in their ranking algorithms. Following is a list of what items are given the most importance to items that have the least importance, in search engine rankings.

TITLE . 2.0
LINK POPULARITY . 2.0
THE MAIN BODY TEXT . 1.5
DOMAIN NAME . 1.0
KEYWORD PROMINENCE . 1.0
HEADING TAGS . 0.5
PROXIMITY OF KEYWORDS . 0.5
BOLD or ITALIC . 0.4
FOLDER or FILENAME . 0.3
META DESCRIPTION . 0.3
ALT TAG . 0.2
TITLE ATTRIBUTE . 0.2
META KEYWORDS . 0.1
TOTAL HIGHEST SCORE POSSIBLE = 10

TITLE TAG . 2.0/10
The title tag is an important part of a website. It is basically a short description of the page, and the most important words should go first. Every HTML (web page) should have a title tags and all tags should be unique. It is recommended that you do not use the same tags for multiple documents. Some tips to keep in mind when creating title tags are:

* It should always appear immediately after the opening tag
* It should be specific keywords and phrases
Professional Marketing Tips . Tips On Marketing>), and do not use one word more than twice.
* Titles should be between 5-12 words (less than 60 characters).
* Place primary keyword at the starting of the tag.
* Try to minimize/eliminate the use of commas in this tag.
* Strive for a keyword density of 25-35% for each keyword , you can do it by using those keywords in your body content often .
* Always remember to close the tag ( * If you use the same keyword twice, do not use it right next to each other. (eg. )
* All pages MUST have a unique and descriptive keyword phrase in the title.
* Do not change the tag regularly. The ideal time is 15 days .

THE MAIN BODY TEXT . 1.5/10
Use the following tips to increase the effectiveness of the main body text. These tips also cover Keyword prominence (1.0/10), Heading Tags (0.5/10), Proximity of Keywords (0.5/10), Bold or Italic (0.4/10), and Alt Tag (0.2/10)

* Make sure to put the most important keywords into a carefully crafted paragraph at the beginning of your HTML Page
* Keyword Density: If the page contains less than 500 words, keeping 1-3% of those words is better. If the page contains more than 500 words, keep 3-5% of the overall content.
* Try to keep the word count of anywhere between 250 to 750 words per page.
* Use CSS instead of font tags
* Get rid of JavaScript in the code, and instead use an external file.
* Keep image buttons as text links, or have image and text links.
* Repeat page title in a heading at the top of the page, if possible.
* Use heading tags (, , ., ). You can alter the way these tags look via CSS.
* Keyword proximity: It refers to the closeness between two or more keywords, Always try to group words together that might be searched on as a single phrase by a user.
* Place some important keywords in Bold or Italic.
* Use Alt tag to describe images.
* Make sure the code of the homepage is not greater than 32k.
* Try to keep max font size 11px or 12px. (2 or 3 in most web programs).
* Avoid the use of nested loops in structure.
* Use W3C technologies and guidelines
* Update your body text at regular intervals, as many search engines prefer websites which are updated regularly

METATAGS - Meta Description (0.3/10), Meta Keywords (0.1/10)

Meta Description

* Write it in sentence structure
* Should be relevant to the similar 25-30 words (under 150 characters) description of the first text on the visible page.
* Do not repeat keywords more than 3 times in the description tag, or use different forms of the keyword.
* Minimize the use of stop words such as "and", "the", "of", etc.
* Keyword phrases that appear earliest in the Meta description will generally receive higher ranking value.
* Try to include this tag in all pages by describing the content, and try to be unique in all descriptions.
* Don't fill your descriptions with only keywords.
* Strive for 5-10% keyword density.

MetaKeywords

* Keep it less than 130 characters for better results.
* Start with the most important then least important.
* Use keywords/phrases.
* Do not repeat any one word more than three (3) times.
* Do not place repeated keywords together.
* Use keywords that will be actually found on the page, and ones that reflect the essence of your content.
* Try to use small case in keyword/phrases

Ok , now below is a short article-:

Spider Friendly Pages

First off what is spider friendly navigation? Basically it is how easily search engines can read your website. This ultimately depends on the search engine that is reading your site. Some have the patience to dig deep into your site and promise to follow every link. Others may get bored before they finish indexing a whole page. Carefully organize your page content and Web site to ensure that spiders index the whole thing - not just bits and pieces. Here are some tips that will help you to do this:

1. Use Keywords/phrases that best describe the target page.
2. Avoid using image maps, if needed make sure to add text links at the bottom of all pages.
3. Do not use long text; limit 40-50 characters in a text link
4. Avoid using JavaScript links
5. Create text links and use a common navigational menu for all pages
6. For best results try to limit the number of links per page to 20. (Only a recommendation)
7. Include a site map if you have more than 20 pages.
8. If you are using flash navigation, always have text links as a supplement to the flash
9. Try to use keyword phrases in the HTML and image file names
10. Keep your file names hyphenated (e.g. use this-page.html instead of thispage.html)

General Tips and Tricks

1. Make sure your website is completely finished, spell checked, online and all links are working before submitting to Search Engines'.
2. Try to include .robots.txt. to prevent spiders from crawling certain directories. (For more info, visit www.robotstxt.org)
3. If the site was designed in something other than HTML, make sure there is some static content for the spider to read.
4. Try and get on DMOZ if you are not already there.
5. Read each search engines. guidelines and follow them closely.
6. Use meta tags in all places
7. For getting proper keywords that are commonly used visit:
a) http://www.wordtracker.com
b) http://inventory.goto.com/searchinventory/suggestion/
c) https://adwords.google.com/select/m...=KeywordSandbox
8. For checking keyword density use the following sites:
a) http://www.keyworddensity.com/
b) http://www.ranks.nl
9. When using frames, make sure to include keyword rich content between the tags, on the main frameset page.
10. Keep all content in root directory if possible.
11. Make sure your home page can load within 8-10 seconds on a 56k modem
12. Try to use CSS data as an external file and call it using tag
13. Optimize your images and keep the page size low
14. Update your more important pages at a regular interval
15. Check your site for broken links periodically

Things to Avoid
Here are some things to avoid when creating your website:

1. Avoid strange color combinations, as this can make it hard to read for a viewer
2. Text that is too small to read will also cause the reader to leave
3. Unrelated Advertisements will distract viewers
4. Hidden text, which is text the same color as the background
5. Submitting your site to FFA sites
6. Duplicate pages, doorway pages and cloaked pages
7. Re-direction from the homepage to another
8. Automated submission to search engines
9. Submitting to search engines more than once a month
10. Use of tag in HTML page header
11. Using trademarks or company names other than yours in Meta tags.
12. Instance of 5 or 6 keywords being repeated in one row

Summary

Search engine optimization is the process of Internet marketing and is the most cost-effective means of marketing to your target visitors. 90 percent of the web users are turning to search engines to search information online, so it is very crucial that your website rank within the top 20 results if you want to be found. A successful search engine optimization will bring qualified customers and prospects to your website. So if after several months of your website's position on the search engines result page has not improved, you might want to consider the services of a professional website optimization and search engine placement expert.

P.S–

DON’T USE THE BELOW METHOD
"Black hat" methods
"Black hat" SEO are methods to try to improve rankings that are disapproved of by the search engines and/or involve deception. This can range from text that is "hidden", either as text colored similar to the background or in an invisible or left of visible div, or by redirecting users from a page that is built for search engines to one that is more human friendly. A method that sends a user to a page that was different from the page the search engined ranked is Black hat as a rule. One well known example is Cloaking, the practice of serving one version of a page to search engine spiders/bots and another version to human visitors.

Search engines may penalize sites they discover using black hat methods, either by reducing their rankings or eliminating their listings from their databases altogether. Such penalties can be applied either automatically by the search engines' algorithms or by a manual review of a site.

One infamous example was the February 2006 Google removal of both BMW Germany and Ricoh Germany for use of deceptive practices. Both companies, however, quickly apologized, fixed the offending pages, and were restored to Google's list.

There are many others things that you may feel are good to improve you PR but you seriously don’t need to worry about them.Better save your time on the site’s content . It is the most imp thing. And plz don’t fall in traps of SEO companies who guarantee a place in top 5 list for few dollars. Google.com too receive few mails like ‘your site in not in top 500 , hire us’

I didnt needed a mp3 player as i was always happy with my Ngage (classic not QD) MP3 feature (and still i am) . An awesome piece of work , i really wonder how people can ignore tons of its features just because of it size. Anyway , here i am writing my views on this Tsonic mp3 player. My father bought this for himself although most of the time it happens to be with me ;) . On first look , it looks quite impressive because of its tiny size, just 51mm x 26mm x 19mm and weighing 22g (with battery). If i would have been a girl , i would have described its looks as a single word 'CUTE' . It supports MP3 , WMA (No DRM support) and WAV . With one button recording feature , you can use it for spying ;) . OK OK i know micro sized cameras are also available. It also has a FM facility but i hardly use it , reason: bad FM receptor. It really sucks. Now when it comes to sound quality , it is just awesome . You will surely forget all those ipod so-called sound engineering. Battery is also good , in my one month usage i charged it only 3-4 times.

PROS
  • Good Sound Quality
  • Cheap -- 1gb model available as low as 54$ in US market . In india , it is available at Rs 3400 with 2 years warranty.
  • Handy recording facility
  • FM
  • OLED Screen -- much better than LCD screen
  • Can be used as a USB Memory Stick
  • Good battery life
  • Small size
  • Has almost all the facilities which one can expect
CONS
  • Bad FM receptor
  • Dont support protected MP3s , a feature which one cant miss in western countries if one wants to play legal MP3s
  • Toy like buttons
  • Dont sort mp3s according to artist names, favorites, etc
  • Attached ear phones ould have been better
  • Can be charged only by usb cable. Although cheap USB charger are available easily costing 75 INR

INTRODUCTION

PHP: PHP Hypertext Protocol:
PHP has become a somewhat mature dynamic server side programming language over the past few years. As of writing this article PHP 5.x is the current release and millions of web pages are using PHP (we are at Tizag). PHP is a free technology you can download for many different Operating Systems.

Compared to ASP, PHP is very easy to pick up and learn a little at a time. PHP is an ideal language for the weekend or hobbyist programmer. Seems like all green pastures in the land of PHP.

However, businesses do not readily embrace PHP for many reasons. A great deal of companies are running operating systems such as Windows Server 2003 or one of the Window NTs, which have been optimized to run Microsoft's proprietary language ASP.

ASP: Active Service Pages
ASP is a technology that is included with Internet Information Services (IIS) which is included in Windows 2003, NTs and XP Professional. If you own XP Home Edition then you will need to pay a couple hundred dollars to upgrade to XP Professional before you can begin your ASP programming career.

As far as programming languages go, ASP is definitely not as straightforward as PHP. The language has a plethora of confusing programming patterns that will take a while to learn. Besides that difficulty, there is also much less free information on the internet, preventing you weekend programmers from getting a quality education for no money down.

On the other hand, ASP and ASP.NET are widely used in the business world. If you are looking to get a high paying job, ASP or ASP.NET would be a darn good start to improving your desirability to employers.

This isn't to say that you couldn't get a job with PHP, because you can, but rather you would just have an easier time if you took the ASP path. A search on Monster.com of ASP vs PHP near a major city resulted with 47 jobs for PHP and 321 jobs for ASP.

COMPARISON OF FEATURES

Cost
To run ASP programs one needs IIS installed on a Windows platform server, which is not free. PHP programs run on Linux, which is free. Even the connectivity of the database is expensive in the case of ASP as MS-SQL is a product of Microsoft that needs to be purchased. PHP generally uses MySQL, which is freely available

Speed
If we compare the speed of ASP and PHP then PHP has an upper hand. PHP code runs faster than ASP. ASP is built on COM based architecture, which is an overhead for the server whereas PHP code runs in its own memory space.

Platform Compatibility
PHP programs can run on various platforms like Linux, Unix, Windows and Solaris whereas ASP is mainly associated with Windows platforms. However, ASP can run on a Linux platform with ASP-Apache installed on the server.

Additional Costs
Many of the tools used in PHP are free of cost and since PHP is open source a lot of code can be found in open source forums. PHP has inbuilt features like ftp, email from a web page or even encryption mechanisms but in ASP such features are not built in and some additional components are required. Therefore an additional cost is incurred for such components

Base Language
PHP is based on C++ language and the syntax used in PHP is quite similar to C/C++. C/C++ is still considered the best programming language by many programmers and people who love this language would surely feel more comfortable with the syntax of PHP. ASP on the other hand has a more Visual Basic kind of syntax that again is closely related to only Microsoft products. So, it depends on a person-to-person which language he or she is comfortable

CONCLUSION

So , it depends on the person , which language is to follow. If we see the easiness , php is much better to follow . Cost , speed , online support and many other things supports php . There are very few things which php can do but asp cant. But still asp gets upper hand when it comes to making a portal site website. For young programmers , it is advisable to choose asp as it will benefit them career wise.
